Round 13 [Karjakin]

This game was played in the last round. If I wanted to show more or less good result I had to win it!
1.e4 c5 2.Nf3 d6 3.d4 cxd4 4.Nxd4 Nf6 5.Nc3 a6 6.Be3 e5 7.Nb3 Be6 8.Qd2 Nbd7 9.O-O-O Be7 10.f3
[10.f4 Is another possible continuation.]
10...b5 11.g4 b4 12.Nd5 Bxd5 13.exd5 Nb6 14.Na5 'I don't like this move very much even thought I played it by my self! But first of all I played it in rapid against Ponomariov in my memoryable tournament in Tomsk 2006. I can not show dangerous lines in rapid! And at that moment when I played it this move was a novelty. I managed to get complitely winning position and some chess players also started to play this move:-).'
[in my veuw "old line"
14.Qxb4 should be prefered.]
14...Nbxd5 'This is definetely stronger than 14...Nfd5 wich was played by "pono"'
15.Nc6 Qc7 16.Nxb4 'Oficially this is novelty, but only 1 game was played in this line before.'
16...Nxb4 17.Qxb4 O-O 'This is critical position in the game.'
18.g5 '?'
[Here white had to play
18.Qb6 with a very unclear game. This was my original idea when I played 14.Na5 against Ponomariov.]
18...Rfc8 19.Qa4 '?!' Dubious move'
[19.Qc4 Had to be prefered
19...Qxc4 20.Bxc4 Rxc4 21.gxf6 Bxf6
(21...gxf6 22.Rhg1+ Kh8 23.Bh6)
22.Rxd6 Kf8 black is slighlity better, but white should be able to hold.]
[Did not solve problems
19.Bd3 because of
19...Rab8 20.Qh4
(20.Qc3 Qxc3 21.bxc3 Nd5 22.Bxh7+ Kxh7 23.Rxd5 Rxc3- / +)
20...Rxb2!! Very tipycal idea in this position.
21.Qc4
(21.Kxb2 Qc3+ 22.Kb1 d5- +)
21...Qb7 22.Qxc8+ Qxc8 23.gxf6 Bxf6 24.Kxb2 e4+ 25.Kc1 exd3 26.Rxd3 Qf5- + And black should graduately win it.]
19...Rab8 '!!' 'Black is using that white does not have time to take knight.'
20.Bd3 '?!' 'This is already decesive mistake!'
[Now there is no
20.Qc4? because of
20...Qb7- +]
[20.Bc4 Was the only one chance to be in the game. Black has a lot of interesting possibilites here, but at least white is not losing immideately!
20...Qxc4
(20...Nd7 21.Bb3 Nc5 22.Bxc5 Bxg5+ 23.Kb1 Qxc5 24.Qxa6Unclear position)
(20...Ng4 21.fxg4 Qxc4 22.Qxc4 Rxc4 23.h3= / +)
21.Qxc4 Rxc4 22.gxf6 Bxf6 23.Rxd6 e4 24.c3 Ra4 25.a3 exf3 26.Rf1 Be5 27.Rd7 Bxh2 28.Rxf3 f6= / +]
[20.gxf6? Rb4 Loses in a spot.]
20...Nd7 '-+' 'Now it is practicaly over. It is very easy to see how dangerous is to play main lines in Najdorf with out special preparation.'
21.Qe4 g6 'Here my home preparation came to the end.'
22.Bxa6
[22.h4 Rxb2 23.Kxb2 Qc3+ 24.Kc1 d5- +]
[Hardly better was
22.Rde1 Nc5]
22...Rb4 '!' 'Logical continuation of attack!'
23.Qd3
[23.c4 Qc6 24.Bxc8 Rxc4+ 25.Kb1 Rxe4 26.Bxd7 Qxd7 27.fxe4 Qa4- +]
23...Rcb8 24.b3 Nc5 '!' 'When you have good position it is easy to play well.'
25.Bxc5 Qxc5 26.Qd5 Qa7 '!' 'It is very important to keep quiens in the board.'
27.Bc4 Bxg5+
[27...Rc8! Was another very strong option.
28.a3 Qxa3+ 29.Kd2 Bxg5+ 30.Ke1 Rbxc4 31.bxc4 Qe3+ 32.Kf1 Rxc4 33.Qd3 Rxc2 34.Qxe3 Bxe3 35.Rxd6 Bd4- +]
28.Kb2 Ra4 29.a3
[does not help
29.Ra1 Ra5!
(29...e4 30.Rhf1 e3- +)
30.Qe4
(30.Qxd6 Be7 31.Qd3 Ba3+ 32.Kb1 Ra4- +)
30...Ra3 31.Qd5 Ra8 32.b4 Bf6- +]
29...Ra5 30.Qe4
[30.Qxd6 Be7- +]
30...Be3 '30...Kg7 was also winning, but 30...Ra3 could have been a mistake.'
[30...Kg7- +]
[30...Rxa3? 31.Ra1 Ra8 32.Qxa8+ Qxa8 33.Rxa3 Qxf3 34.Rf1 And white has counterplay.]
31.c3 '?'
[Last chance was
31.Rxd6 but after
31...Bc5
(31...Bd4+ 32.Rxd4 exd4 33.Qf4- / +)
32.Rd5 Bxa3+ 33.Kb1 Bc5 34.Qxe5 Ra8 35.Kb2 Ra1 36.Rxc5 Rxh1 37.Kc3 Rf8- +]
31...Rxa3 '!' 'Now it is time to play it.'
32.Ra1 Ra8
[White resigned as after
32...Ra8 33.Qxa8+
(33.Qb1 Rxa1 34.Qxa1 Bc1+! 35.Rxc1 Qf2+ 36.Rc2 Qxc2+ 37.Kxc2 Rxa1- +)
33...Qxa8 34.Rxa3 Qxf3 35.Rf1 Qg2+ 36.Kb1 d5- + White's position is hopeless.]
